So I tried it tonight. They were yummyyyyyy
I added a side of Thai Rice for my husband who would not find just lettuce wraps sufficient for dinner :).
First step. Make the tofu.
1. 1 block of tofu, drained and squeeze out as much water as possible.
2. cut the tofu up in small squares.
3. add as much soy sauce as you like to flavor
4. 1/2 a TBSP of onion powder.
Let marinade in a bowl for 10 min
Next place tofu in the oven for 40-50 minutes, or until brown and semi chewy.
place on a greased cookie sheet with aluminum foil i used Earth Balance to grease.
Should come out like this.
While you're tofu is cooking cut your veggies.
I used
2 medium sized portabello mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic
5 green onions chopped.
Once the tofu is done set it aside.
IMPORTANT.
Let it cool then the tofu will separate from the sheet MUCH easier
Add the garlic and green onions to a wok or large pan and let cook for 3 min
The add the mushrooms and let cook for another 5 min.
Add as much soy sauce as you like, I added about 2 Tablespoons more.
I also added some more onion powder. about 1 1/2 tablespoon of fresh ground ginger
also 1 1/2 tablespoons of Sweet chili Sauce.
Optional- red chili flakes.
pull apart lettuce from the lettuce head.
and enjoy!
